THANK YOU FRIENDS, SUPPORTERS & SHOPPERS! 2013 was a great year for the Mercer Island Farmers Market.  Attendance was great all season and our vendors sold more than they ever have.  We received positive comments about the mix of vendors and the ready-to-eat food at MIFM made Sunday lunches special.  The Board of Directors will be working to make 2014 another great season.  BigflagSubscribe to our newsletter  to find out whats happening at MIFM.  Follow us on FACEBOOK and Twitter

Be a friend and donate now! Look for hard cider, beer and wine sampling next year! This was well received at the November 24 (pre-Thanksgiving) Harvest Market.   This year state legislation was passed to authorize wine and beer tasting at local farmers markets. The MIFM Board of Directors met with city officials and satisfied their concerns, applied to the Washington State Liquor Control Board to participate in the program and was approved.  Under the new law only three wineries or microbreweries may offer samples at a farmers market per day and samples must be two ounces or less. For information on the law, see Sampling Wine & Beer The program is based on a very successful pilot conducted at 10 farmers markets. A Washington State Liquor Control Board (WSLCB) review of the pilot program showed there were no public safety violations, no minors were served and nobody became inebriated as a result of tasting wine at a farmers market.  This is a win for both wineries & micro-breweries that can directly sell to the public and to farmers market shoppers who can discover new wines & beers while supporting agriculture & industry.
